Everyone has particular sensations when they go to the mountains. There are those who associate it with good air, which, however, when the sun goes down, forces you to cover your skin, perhaps sunburnt by the daytime sun, with a heavier garment.
There are those who go to the mountains to walk, for fun and to enjoy nature which is usually more luxuriant than in the plains.
Or to work hard, to test yourself, to pursue some goal and win a new challenge.
The mountain in summer is a completely different place from the mountain in winter, when it is more severe and demands respect, especially at certain altitudes, where the immaculate blanket of snow turns it into a playground for winter sports lovers.
The higher you go, the more you can meet curious, original, difficult to replicate characters. Someone will seem more hospitable, someone else more shy, but in this the heights do not differ much from the plain.
However, there is a constant and characterizing element in the mountains, regardless of the age of visitors, passions, seasons and who will welcome you.
It’s the flavors
Tastes of good, genuine tastes, sometimes cheeky, which do not compliment. Refinement is not sought at certain altitudes, but the concreteness of a nutritious and satisfying meal.
How many times sweaty for a summer hike on a long path have you sat satisfied on a wooden plank? Curious and hoping to see a hot and tasty dish appear from the kitchen of the refuge.
And in the cold season, when the fireplace seems your best friend, and envelops you with its warmth even if it is there, shy, in a corner of the refuge or in the center of a room in plain sight, proud and vain but equally balsamic for your cold bones.
Even in these situations, bowls full of every good thing, soups, grilled meats, cheeses, will be placed on the table and you will feel pampered at home.
